About me
I’m Curtis Kephart, an economist and data scientist. I have a Ph.D. in International Economics from UC Santa Cruz, where I studied experimental economics, industrial organization, and econometrics. I’ve worked in academic research at UCSC and NYU Abu Dhabi, and spent seven years at Posit PBC (formerly RStudio), contributing to the open-source data science community.
I like making things with data: research, visualizations, interactive tools, teaching materials, and the occasional project that sends me down an interesting rabbit hole. The subject matter wanders a bit, from econ, and public data to thru-hiking and other fun personal projects, basically whatever seems worth building and sharing.
